Leading Worship: Rhonda and Savannah Phillips
Rhonda and her husband Dave have been married for 23 years. They have three children. Savannah will soon be 20 and is getting married in May with the desire to go to the mission field in the future. Colten is 18 and will be going to Houghton College majoring in pastoral ministries in the fall. Abrianna is 16 and desires to go into Biblical counseling when she graduates. Rhonda has homeschooled all of her children since kindergarten. She is active in a homeschool co-op and has encouraged others in their endeavors to homeschool. Rhonda and her children have been leading worship at New Beginnings Church of God in Titusville for the past 5 years. God has blessed her family with many musical talents and they are honored to be used by Him to lead others into His throne room. Rhonda and her daughter Savannah are excited for the opportunity to minister through songs this weekend.
Invigorating Prayer:No More Prayer Meetings
Speaker: Deb Cypher
Does the thought of attending a “prayer meeting” cause you to break out into a cold sweat? Do you feel like prayer is an abstract art for the super pious? While you would like to be a woman of prayer, do you feel like you’ve become a woman of lists? This break out session intends to help you move from prayer-fatigue to prayer- invigorated. We will look at seven prayer truths and six areas of prayer. We will learn how to shift our focus away from need – based prayer. We will then take time to pray – reviving ourselves and our community. Guaranteed: this is NOT a prayer meeting.
Choose Joy-Create Balance
A Biblical Approach to organizing our Chaos
Speaker: Laura Shallenberger
There is something about looking ahead, pondering a circumstance of life (recuperation, financial stress, child rearing, widowhood, the day to day activity of our everyday lives) to know something of the mind of God, and reminding ourself of His promises that readies us for the future. It is never too soon, nor is
it ever too late to prepare for the rest of our lives. The truth is that all of us , regardless of age, are already setting patterns for the shape of our life. These patterns of thought, action or non-action will either help us to choose joy, serve the glory and purposes of God or hinder them. The issues we are pondering make a difference today, next week, and next year —and into whatever time remains. These topics and truths impact life with God now —our joy and usefulness to the body —as well as our entry into the Lord’s presence for all eternity.
We will also explore some practical application of all of this through the use of Dot Journaling.
TO enhance your experience in this Breakout session; please bring a Bible and if you have colored pencils and/or pens, also bring them. There will be a door prize for one lucky attendee and some other small prizes.
Speaker: Saralee Lenhart
Using Scripture and time with God to dig deeper in what His word says and how His promises relate to us today. This will be a time of discussion as well as some time spent digging into his word and quiet reflection.
