New Executive Director Announced!!
The Whitehall Board of Directors is pleased and excited to announce the appointment of the Rev. Mark A. Pollock of Sligo, PA as the new Executive Director of Whitehall Camp and Conference Center. Mark will officially assume his duties January 1, 2015.
It is absolutely amazing and inspiring to watch God at work. The Board is confident that God led Mark to us. After an extensive 8-month nationwide search, and a lot of prayer and discussion, we discovered God had the person to lead Whitehall right here in our own backyard. Mark expressed how he, at times, over the past several years had wondered where God was leading him, as doors seemed to be closing. But he realizes now that God was simply preparing and directing him to this work. Mark comes to us possessing a background and experiences matching practically every quality and attribute for which we were searching. He has extensive business and management experience in the construction field, owning and operating a business. Currently he is working as a field construction foreman for a woodworking company. Mark was ordained as a Church of God minister in 2005, and has served several years as an associate and youth pastor and as an interim senior pastor. One of his passions is mission work, where he has led numerous mission trips to Honduras over the past decade. He has demonstrated a love for the Lord and others, unsurpassed by anyone.
Mark and his wife Lynn have two sons—one a high school biology teacher in Austin, TX, and the other a student at a university in Cincinnati, OH. Lynn is an elementary teacher.
The Board looks forward to working into the future with Mark at the helm, and would like to express its appreciation for the many people and congregations that enabled us to transition from Don’s departure to Mark’s arrival. It is always difficult to name all of those who contributed, but a few bear mention here. We are thankful for the Rev. Lonny Wolford of the Fox Street congregation in Franklin for serving as Interim Director during these months, and keeping the Camp moving. We especially wish to thank the Fox Street congregation itself for sharing their pastor and making it possible for him to serve Whitehall as Interim Director. To the staff at Whitehall, none of this would have been possible without their extraordinary efforts to keep Whitehall functioning at a high level. And thank you to all the individuals who volunteered at the camp, and supported it through their prayers and their giving. Whitehall is an effective ministry not just because of the place, but because of its people and their love for leading the lost to Christ.
We welcome Mark and look forward to the future with great anticipation as we labor together to influence and lead individuals to the Lord.
